Richard Hemingway
- In what activity would you like to represent your country?
- Downhill skiing - but this would require me skiing more than once every 2 years.
- What has been your greatest discovery online?
- Spotify is both my greatest and worst discovery as it has rendered my CD collection redundant (and a vast waste of money)
- What is your favourite and most useful gadget?
- Embarrassingly it is my graphical calculator from my A-level days
- What attracted you to the law
- The varied workload and opportunity to use analytical skills on a daily basis.
- The law you would most like to change/abolish/introduce
- I would want to see tuition fees abolished. It is remarkable in a society geared towards having an educated and flexible workforce that such fees exist and do little more than saddle a graduate with prohibitive debt before they start on the first rung of the employment ladder.
- The law you would most like to introduce
- A thorough set of rules to prevent directors of corporate entities walking away from huge debt only to start again weeks later after buying stock and business from the defunct company to the detriment of creditors.
- Best bit of advice you have received
- "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." or "Never leave for tomorrow what can be done today."
- Your signature recipe
- Kedgeree
- Favourite way to spend a Saturday
- With my wife
- Best place to eat in Fulham, Putney, Chelsea or Hammersmith
- Without wanting to alienate any of our restaurant clients! - Anything in a Mediterranean style with lashings of olive oil.
