Mediation

Mediation is a highly effective and increasingly popular form of dispute resolution, and Woodfords is ideally placed to help you in this area.

Alistair Wells, a Woodfords partner and head of our dispute resolution department, is an accredited mediator, accepting instructions to act on a wide range of disputes, including:

  • general commercial/contractual
  • property
  • construction
  • trusts
  • employment
  • professional negligence
  • trespass
  • neighbour disputes

Alistair has over a decade of experience in handling and resolving disputes for both companies and private individuals in his capacity as a litigation solicitor. This experience is invaluable to his practice as a mediator, enabling him to quickly grasp the facts and issues of a case, to help parties to identify their own objectives and those of other parties, to consider all options/outcomes and to move towards an acceptable and lasting settlement.

Alistair has acted for clients in more than 400 disputes, including cases in the High Court, County Court, Employment Tribunal and First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).

In the majority of cases in which Alistair has mediated or represented clients in mediation, an acceptable settlement has been reached, either at mediation or shortly afterwards.
